Portal Help
Written for parents and students. If something here does not match what you are seeing, call the school; do not keep guessing at the code.
Every student is given two things, printed on a sheet by the class teacher. Together they are the login. There is no email address, no password to choose, and nothing to install.
The class, then the child’s number in that class. It never changes, not when they move up a class, not when a class is renamed. Always lowercase, with a hyphen.
Six characters. Deliberately avoids letters and numbers that look alike, because children read these off paper. Type it exactly as printed.
The Portal Sign-in link at the top of any page opens the portal, which asks one question first: student, staff or administrator. Nothing asks for a password until after you have answered it, so nobody ends up staring at a sign-in form meant for somebody else.
Behind the student door are two cards: lessons and assessments. They are two separate systems the school uses, and both take the same username and access code. Each card says which one it opens before you click it, and Mt Cedar is already selected on both, so your child types the two details and nothing else. Use the links rather than typing an address by hand.
Staff do not use a username and code. Teachers and administrators sign in with the email address and password the school issued them, on the staff door.
Ask the class teacher or the school office for a replacement sheet. For your child’s safety we do not read access codes out over the phone to an unconfirmed caller; a code is the key to their work and their results.
If a code stops working entirely, tell us rather than trying repeatedly. Repeated failed attempts are deliberately slowed down to protect the account, so a child who keeps guessing will find it gets slower, not easier.
The lessons side is built for a mid-range Android phone on mobile data, not a laptop on fibre. A lesson loads once and then stays readable with the data switched off, so a child can read on the way home or after the bundle runs out.
Assessments are different: sitting a paper needs a live connection from start to submit, because answers are saved as they go. Sit assessments where the signal is steady.
Keep the browser you signed in with. Signing in again on a different phone is fine, but the offline copy of a lesson lives on the phone that opened it.
Term result sheets are prepared by teachers and released by the school after each term is finalised. Online lookup is not open yet; sheets are issued directly by the school office.
Objective answers are marked automatically. Written answers are marked with AI assistance and then reviewed by the teacher, and no score reaches a result sheet without a teacher having seen it.
The username and code belong to one child. Sharing them lets someone else read that child’s lessons and sit their assessment. Treat the printed sheet the way you would treat a bank card, and tell us if it goes missing.
